1977 Free Agent Profile: Craig Nagel

Quarterback
Free Agent
Purdue
"A free agent, Craig was drafted in the ninth round by Cleveland last year, played briefly in two preseason games and was waived in the final cut. He's one of several signal-callers vying for the backup spot behind Richard Todd.
Nagel was a part-time starter at Purdue. Known for his strong passing, he was hampered during his career by a broken leg and a shoulder separation. He threw for 517 yards (38 of 87) as a senior, including 149 yards and a touchdown against Southern California.
Craig earned nine letters in three sports at Fairfield (Ohio) High. His birthplace is Cincinnati, his hometown is Fairfield and his name is pronounced NAY-gull."
